Product Features

EK2S is a double pole, highcurrent battery connector using a genderless (intermateable) mating design for faster service and simplified parts management. At the same time, keyed and color-coded housings can be standardized across fleets to reduce wrong connections between different systems. Choose by current level, voltage, cable size, and your site’s color/keying strategy.

Genderless Housing:
Mechanically and electrically identical halves mate together. Simply rotate one connector 180 degrees to mate. Simplifies purchasing and field service.

Color-Coded Mechanical Keying:
Each color housing has a unique internal key. A Grey housing will only mate with Grey, and Blue with Blue. This safety feature prevents accidental mating of different voltage levels (e.g., plugging a 36V battery into a 48V charger).

Self-Cleaning Contacts:
Stainless steel springs apply robust contact pressure, while the "wiping action" during mating helps clean contact surfaces, maintaining low resistance even in dusty environments.

Rugged Durability:
Impact-resistant polycarbonate housings and robust design withstand the shock, vibration, and rough handling common in forklift and material handling operations.

Applications

Multi-Voltage Fleet Charging

Battery-to-charger connections where different voltage systems (24V/48V/80V) must be kept separate through color coding while using the same connector interface.

Forklift & Material Handling

Battery swapping and charging operations requiring frequent, reliable connections with mismating prevention across different equipment types.

UPS & Backup Power

DC power connections for uninterruptible power supplies and backup battery systems where service speed and connection reliability are critical.

FAQ

Q: Can I mate a Red EK2S connector with a Grey EK2S connector?

A: No. EK2S housings are mechanically keyed by color. This safety feature prevents cross-mating incompatible voltage systems (e.g., 24V vs 36V).

Q: What tools do I need to crimp EK2S contacts?

A: We recommend using approved hydraulic or pneumatic crimping tools compatible with the specific wire gauge (AWG/mm²) to ensure a high-quality, low-resistance termination.

Q: Is the EK2S compatible with other major brands?

A: The EK2S series is designed to be intermateable with standard multipole connectors of the same series and rating. Please consult our technical team for specific cross-reference verification.
