AFCI Combiner Box (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter Combiner Box) is a critical component in photovoltaic (PV) solar power systems that integrates arc fault protection with the traditional functions of a PV combiner box.

 

AFCI functionality identifies and distinguishes hazardous arc faults (caused by damaged wires, loose connections, etc.) from normal electrical behavior. Upon detection of such faults, it trips the circuit and prevents continuous arcing that could lead to fire risks.
